Energy Bars

Protein Energy Bars with Oats & Honey

Alright, coming to you straight from my mother! After her 9 day cleanse, she was looking for some healthy snack/treats to take camping and couldn’t quite find the perfect thing. So after searching for some recipes she put together a great little treat complete with some quality un-denatured whey protein from Isagenix. Perfect!
These bars both have great quality fats & proteins that will help keep you full and satisfied.

1 cup gluten free oats
1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
1/2 cup raw pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup shaved almonds
1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
1 tsp. vanilla extract
mix all dry ingredients in a bowl , set aside

in large pot bring almond butter and honey to a boil stirring constantly
take of heat, add vanilla extract and the dry ingredients stir till it is all mix together
put in pan and pat down with your hand, and let cool and cut into bars.

Chocolate Energy Bars

1 cup organic peanut butter
3/4 cup unpasteurized honey
1/2 cup milled flax seed
1 cup oats
1/2 cup Isagenix chocolate shake powder
1/3 cup cocoa powder ( could use unsweetened chocolate )
1/2 cup chopped peanuts
1/2 cup shaved almonds
1/3 cup raw sunflower seeds
1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
1 tsp. vanilla extract
mix all dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside
lightly grease a 9×5 pan with olive oil
in large pot bring peanut butter and honey to a light boil stirring constantly ( if you are going to use chocolate put it in the pot as well)
add vanilla and dry ingredients and stir till all is mixed
put in pan and pat down with hands, cool and cut into bars.
If you want chewier bars cut down on some of the dry ingredients & don’t boil your honey for too long (they’ll be softer). You can pretty much add what you want to these. Switch up the nuts, add dry fruit , what ever you like….Enjoy!!
