You might not believe me, but it can be simple to have fast & healthy food choices at home. The key is getting creative and setting out some time to make a list of the things you’d like to try for the week. For example, if you want to stop buying bottled juice (that you know has too much added sugar!) try blending up a glass of juice instead! Grab an orange & a banana and done! You’ll be amazed at how easy it is. This way, you can mix and match flavours and keep all that great fiber and freshness from your fruit.
I can’t believe how simple and delicious this one is. If you have kids, this smoothie will be a hit for sure. It’s perfect for a morning boost of vitamins or for an afternoon pick me up of good-for-you sweetness.
Remember, if you’re craving sweetness, having a piece of fruit will not only help satisfy that craving but you’ll be getting much needed nutrients as well. It’s a good bang for you buck.
**I always like to add the ‘extras’ (turmeric, ginger, herbs, spices etc..) to get more value from any smoothie, but feel free to start basic and add the things you like as you get more adventurous 🙂
I use organic because I prefer the flavour (and lack of pesticides 😉 ) but choose whichever you like!
Banana Orange Turmeric Blend
2 Organic Oranges peeled
2 Frozen Bananas peeled
2 Ice cubes
1-2 tsp grated ginger ( or 1/2 inch chunk)
1/2 tsp turmeric
Blend away 🙂
