Summer Smoothies

Although I have smoothies all year round, I’m usually making them more citrusy & adding herbs in the warmer months. Feels like the right thing to do!

You can get creative with your smoothies and try out different ingredients you think pair nicely together and give it a shot! You’ll win some …..and probably lose some, but you’ll eventually come up with some spectacular concoctions 🙂

Smoothies are a great way to get a lot of nutritional value in 1 quick and easy meal. The more nutrients you’re getting throughout the day, the less cravings and mental fog you’ll experience, especially in those mid-late afternoon hours. Try one for breakfast (always add your greens!) or prepare one in the morning to bring for a snack or lunch.

Todays Summer Smoothie was a hit. Super light and satisfying. Tangy and fresh! Perfect way to give me a boost of energy & nutrients for my run.
Not too mention a good dose of Protein, Healthy Fats, Vitamins C, K, A, Calcium and Potassium.. Drink up!

1 Cup Water
3 Large Kale leaves-I massage them in freshly squeezed lemon juice first (optional)
1/2 Grapefruit
1/2 Small Cucumber– peepled
1 Tbsp Hemp Seeds
1 Large Basil leave-it was huge!
1 Tbsp ginger
juice of 1/2 lime

Blend in Vitamix 30 seconds on high. Voila.
